Royal Gibraltar Police to start using Reveal body cameras

RGP use Reveal body cams

The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) is to start using Reveal RS2-X2 body worn cameras to record interactions and incidents with the public.

Individual front line police officers will be wearing the body cam whilst on shift as the RGP join leading police forces around the world using the technology. RGP stated that this tool is used worldwide and is proven to increase transparency and professionalism within policing.

Superintendent Richard Ullger said that the introduction of Reveal body cameras will not only be of assistance to the criminal justice system as a whole, but also offer extra reassurance to police officers. Reveal body cameras uniquely feature a front facing screen which has been shown around the world to deter violence and aggression towards officers, often making the officers feel safer and more confident in their jobs.
